A research on distribution of IPv6 traffic by application
Abstruct
Contents
  1. Ratio of each data by transport protocol
  2. Ratio of each data classified by port number
  3. to calculate the ratio, a round-trip IPv6 traffic data is gathered at each observation points
Frequency
  • Date: Once a month
  • a day which is expected to be a averaged traffic condition
  • Time: 24 hours
Method
  • This research captures the packet in IPv6 network inside ISP to gather the specific data.
  • The observation point is set on a point at IPv6 network inside ISP. That point depends on 100Mbps FastEthernet and is located as close to outer network as possible.
  • The count exclude a packet without IPv6 and an IPv6 packet capsuled by any protocol.
